The Ocean Gardeners

The Ocean Gardeners is a programme of the European Seagrass Restoration Alliance. Through this programme we are working to develop a more inclusive and diverse environmental movement by building public involvement and civic engagement in seascape restoration programmes.
Through The Ocean Gardeners programme people can:
- (Re)connect with nature
- Engage in hands-on marine restoration activities
- Participate in citizen science to monitor marine health
- Connect with other local environmental initiatives
- Join a growing community of like minded individuals

Developing Ocean Literacy:
Ocean Literacy has never been more important. Ocean Literacy is a fundamental tool to enhance ocean knowledge, but also to encourage citizens and stakeholders to have an active role in protecting and restoring our oceans.
Ocean literacy is an understanding of the ocean’s influence on you—and your influence on the ocean and understanding the ocean is essential to comprehending and protecting this planet on which we live.
