Marine Protected Area of Acantilados de Maro-Cerro Gordo

There are currently two seagrass programmes running in the Marine Protected Area of Acantilados de Maro-Cerro Gordo.

RECOMAR has the primary goal of optimising techniques and developing tools for the recovery and monitoring of Cymodocea nodosa meadows.

CLIMAREST is a European project focuses on Zostera marina and Nanozostera noltii restoration in Ireland and southern Spain. It aims to implement tools for restoration actions, monitor seagrass ecosystems and promote stakeholder engagement.

In Spain the restoration actions are being led by the Universidad de Málaga in the Marine Protected Area of Acantilados de Maro-Cerro Gordo.
