Posidonia oceanica

The Mediterranean Posidonia Network (MPN) was created in 2020 following the “Anchors Away” networking event held in Athens, Greece on 21-22 November 2019. The purpose of the MPN is to convene actors from across the entire Mediterranean including scientists, local and national authorities, the EU, marine authorities, marines protected area managers, the yachting industry and nautical professionals in order to protect and restore Posidonia oceanica seagrass meadows.

Today the MPN stands at more than 200 members spread across 15 Mediterranean countries and is led by a task force combining staff from L’Office français de la biodiversité (OFB), the Balearic Government, SPA/RAC, WWF Med, IUCN Med, MedPan, White Sand and BlueSeeds.
