Global Seagrass Nursery Network

Seagrass nurseries are becoming increasingly recognised as a important tool for not just for supporting the scaling up of seagrass restoration operations, but critically for developing the scientific knowledge that underpins restoration success. The long term aim for seagrass nurseries will be to produce seagrass seeds and/or propagules (rhizomes/plants/sods) in semi-controlled conditions in order to supply restoration programmes, but underpinning this provision with the knowledge and understanding to maximise germination success rates and seedling survival.

Since the inaugral Global Seagrass Nursery Network seminar on XXth of XXXXX 20XX, there have been nine seminars, bringing together researchers and practitioners from around the world.

The Global Seagrass Nursery Network includes seagrass experts from a range of organizations across the globe that meet regularly to share information regarding seagrass propagation and restoration techniques.
