The first 130 registrations will have the opportunity to join The Seagrass Consortium team in exploring the Bassin d’Arcachon with the Union des Bateliers Arcachonnais. We will be joined by colleagues from the Parc naturel marin du Bassin d’Arcachon on the morning of Friday 11th April who will share with us the broad range of management activities that are taking place in the Bassin d’Arcachon.

At 09:00 on Friday 11th April we will depart Arcachon to take registered delegates on a grand seagrass tour (a modified version of The Coastline Tour, from Island to Ocean).

Low-tide is at 11:42 ensuring views of the expansive seagrass meadows which are found throughout the Bassin d’Arcachon.

(NB – this is an additional opportunity available on a first come, first serve basis. It is not included in the registration fee. Updated on 23-1-2025 from first 80 registrations)


Tour highlights include:

  • The Arcachon and Pyla waterfront
  • Passage through the Mapouchet channel, with beautiful views of the Île aux Oiseaux and the Cabanes Tchanquées
  • Views of the active oyster farms 
  • Cap Ferret peninsula and its oyster-farming villages
  • Dune du Pilat and Banc d’Arguin
