Dwarf eelgrass (Nanozostera noltii) is found in the intertidal and shallow parts of both the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean (up to ~3m depth). Nanozostera noltii forms extensive and patchy meadows in shallow coastal and transitional ecosystems.
