Gare d’Arcachon is readily accessible by train from both Paris Montparnasse and Bordeaux St Jean. Frequent trains to Arcachon can be booked via SNCF Connect. From the Gare d’Arcachon the Palais des Congrès d’Arcachon is a short 700m walk away.

Bordeaux-Saint-Jean is the main railway station in Bordeaux. It is the southern terminus of the ‘Paris to Bordeaux’ railway and the western terminus of the ‘Chemins de fer du Midi’ mainline from Toulouse.

Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport is the closest airport and transportation from and to Bordeaux airport to the city centre include public bus, airport shuttle, UBER, and taxis.

Since 2023 there is now also a direct Tram into Bordeaux (Recommended). Take tram A into the city from tram stop located in front of the arrivals terminal between Hall A and Hall B of the airport. You can buy a magnetic ticket at the machine right by the tram stop. The tram will take you approximately 40 minutes go to the historic centre and costs less than €2.


Arcachon is conveniently located within the Bassin d’Aracahon making it the ideal launch-point for exploring the surrounding area. Whilst there are easily a dozen recommendations for first time visitors, the Réserve Ornithologique Du Teich is a striking example of just how important this seascape is to both local and migratory fauna.
